About Wikis in the Classroom

The following link will take you to a PBworks page that gives tips for educators using wikis in their classroom.  It also provides a directory of educational wikis posted by teachers.  The Wiki provides pages like Wiki Etiquette, Protecting your students online, and How to introduce Wikis to your students.

I have begun a wiki for my grade 1 French Immersion classroom and gave each student a page.  I would like to have them post their work, things they build, and artwork.  My only conundrum is how to I prevent this space from becoming a comparison of student performance by parents and students?  I can change the settings to allow invited members only but I also need to ensure that viewers are celebrating the work of their child and not making camparaisons among the many levels of ability in my classroom.

We will see how this adventure in technology unfolds.
