TEMPS LIBRE

j'ai fini mon travail

The options shown below can be changed and are stuck on with velcro.  Dice and card games are math games that the students already know.  I need to add a few cards, 'I can work on my project', 'I can do word work' (anything currently at that Daily Five station), 'I can use an iPad or iPod' (list 'approved' apps), sometimes 'I can paint', I use easy to clean up paint pallets.

Affiche:  Les étapes d'une tâche

The document attachment has all of the images necessary to create this poster.  Notice once again that text AND images are used, even in kindergarten!  The action images to the right are not laminated on, they are affixed with sticky tack or velcro so that they can been changed depending on the activity.  I even sing a little tune about 'Première chose écris ton nom' and I can hear those little dearies singing along with me as they print their name on their paper.

* je colorie, has been changed!

The English version appears first in this document, keep scrolling down to find the French version.

I like to print most visuals on 100 lb card stock.

Printing Lower Case Letters Posters.pdf

These posters support the teaching method of "Handwriting Without Tears".  Laminate and demonstrate using a dry erase marker.  As mentioned in the kindergarten section this program ("Handwriting Without Tears") is used or referred to throughout every grade level in the school.  It is helpful to have common language across grade levels.  The resources "Manuel Phonique" and "Joly Phonique" are also used across all classrooms and grade levels (4 K classes, 7 grade 1 . . . )  When students are seen by learning resource the same terms, language, cues and methods are used for teaching letter sounds and letter formation.  It really is a little bit magical.

L'horaire du jour

These are the signs I use for showing the students our schedule for the day. It doesn't take long before they know to go to look at the wall where they are posted to know what we are up to. I also feel free to move them around if things change throughout the day.
